Mother’s Day Campaign 2009: Mothers, Share Your Story

The 2009 Mother’s Day Campaign consisted of book events across the country held in local communities at book stores, libraries, garage sales, community fairs etc.

The scale of the Mother’s Day Campaign effort was intentionally smaller in 2009.  As mothers, we know that sometimes scaling one thing back to focus on other priorities is just part of life.  We accepted that concept, embraced it, and made the 2010 Mother’s Day Campaign effort that much better for it!

We also quietly began a pilot of what we called, our Power of Purse campaign. Four Mothers & More chapters held events in conjunction with local non-profits that serve mothers and distributed approximately 1,200 purses that members collected in their communities. Southern Saratoga, a 17 member chapter at the time collected over 600 purses in just 6 weeks. Defiance, Pasadena and Boston each had between 2-3 weeks to collect a total of about 600 between their chapters – enough to more than meet their need.
