Welcome to the DeKalb County Chapter of Mothers & More, a group connecting moms (and their families) from DeKalb, Cortland, Genoa, Malta, Maple Park, Sycamore and other nearby communities for friendship, support, encouragement and fun.
Having a child changes everything for a mother. No matter how many parenting books, magazines, or websites you read, nothing prepares you for the changes brought on by becoming a mom. Factor in the additional changes occuring within your body chemistry, sleep deprivation, stress over the decision about whether or not to continue to work for pay, it's no wonder moms sometimes feel overwhelmed and exhausted with their motherhood responsibilites. Mothers & More, a mom's group committed to creating a place for moms to feel a part of a larger community of women who are experiencing similar challenges, can offer you a network of support as you navigate the challenges of daily life.
Mothers & More of DeKalb County is a group of moms from a wide variety of backgrounds. Whether you're new to the area or a native, a first-time mom who's recently left the paid workforce or a mom struggling to achieve a better balance between the demands of paid work and family care, if you're looking to connect with other moms who share similar life experiences, please come join us at one of our upcoming events.
Our members meet monthly for evening program nights to discuss topics of interest. In addition to monthly evening meetings, our group also offers moms times out, play groups, and other family outings and activities for our members and their kids.
If you're a mom living in DeKalb County, and are looking to meet other moms in similar life stages, we invite you to come check out our group as we strive to improve the lives of local moms through support, education and advocacy.
